Welcome to Eric Stratton's log of sadness. My career as a capsuleer began just over a decade ago. After graduating from the Center for Advanced Studies, I took up with a small industrial company known as "Eagle & Co." It was quite an amateur affair, as it didn't take long for me to find out. After a short break, I came back to find that one of the more knowledgable members had split off to form their own corporation, Neuronix. I would join with this new endeavor and remain with them for quite a while, in the end becoming one of the 3 directors. Neuronix was involved in a variety of efforts, including working with the Tribal Liberation Front, along with wormhole activities. Due to our location and the scene at the time, I would stumble across a variety of Electus Matari associated pilots or fleets repeatedly. For example, Neuronix was in an alliance by the name of "Blue Sun Trust" at one point, which was part of a larger coalition that included Electus Matari and F0undation, who worked to eliminate piracy in Molden Heath and elsewhere. The first contact I remember having with the corporation that would become my home the longest was... when I had been poking at the Sleeper sites located in the Ani constellation. In my wanderings, I read a bio on a pilot that was looking to purchase Blueprints obtained from these sites. That pilot happened to be Evanda Char, founder of Re-Awakened Technologies.
In any event, I eventually did join Re-Awakened Technologies. I believe my initial recruiter was Morar Santee. Once I had joined, Elayae asked if I was interested in industrial activity in Illinfrik. I remember saying that I was... but I never really took to it. Instead, I tended to fly with Electus Matari fleets. It was exciting stuff, and the alliance was well organized. Times were changing, however, and in a sad turn, Re-Awakened Technologies was forced to leave the alliance due to the hire of a known criminal of some renown. It was so unfortunate, because I understood the alliance's position completely and agreed, yet Re-Awakened Technologies had become home for me. While I enjoyed my service with Electus Matari, the culture of the other corporations did not fit my personality. Things took a downturn after the departure from the alliance, but thanks to an offer from Tercius (founder of Electus Matari, who had retreated to wormhole space at the time), I dove into wormhole work. About 3 to 6 regular pilots joined me, and we had our share of adventures there. They remain some of my closest capsuleer friends to this day, though they have long since moved on from the corp now. If there was a downside to the wormhole work, is that it felt like it split the corp a bit. To us in the hole, it felt like there was a somewhat inactive corp out in known space, then the group of us in wormhole space, and the wormhole couldn't really support a larger population.
In time, "Space Madness" and the departure of many pilots led to me pulling all of the assets out of "New Egbinger" (our c3 wormhole home). By this time, also, Ciarente, our very kind and supportive CEO, had stepped down and moved on. The corp was to cycle though a few CEOs then, none of whom managed to change the general downward trend of the corp. In fact, I was one of those CEOs for a period. Elayae, former member of Gradient, who had been in the corp for a couple months more than I had, continued to perform a lot of the drudgery and paperwork for the corp relating to bills, the running of stations and maintenance of offices. This was all fairly thankless work she was very good at. At some point, she decided to push for the corp to join the 11th Hour alliance. On the positive side, it was an alliance that contained some formerly Electus Matari related pilots. MUFF, and Meklon in particular was a very entertaining individual that had some of that light-hearted spark that made Re-Aw work in it's best moments. Of course, who knows what Meklon's ex-wife, Evanda Char, would have thought of the development... In any event, this alliance turned out to be about as active as RE-AW itself. There were no joint activities of note. However, because Elayae had gone to the effort and was taking more active steps to revive the corp than I had been taking at the time, I decided that, although I wasn't sure her personality was suited to it, she deserved to be CEO more than I did.
For me, this turned into a period of exploration. I spent nearly all of my time in my Stratios, scanning down odd signatures, poking around the cluster. This went on for at least a year, though exactly how long I cannot recall. When news of Alpha Clone technology started hitting the broadcasts, Elayae began to consolidate corp assets in her long standing home system of Eram and we considered the possibility that Alpha Clones could result in an influx of new blood. In preparation for this, I undertook a large operation to consolidate all of my assets in Eram, Weld, and Altrinur. A decade of capsuleer activity, as well as junk pulled out of wormholes scattered throughout the cluster made this quite a task, but it felt good to finally have a good handle on my assets. After the consolidation happened, I started trying to sell off some of my excess materials, manufacturing some things, and so on. Aside from that, I began doing security work for Thukker Mix up in Altrinur. It was a new status quo for me. Nothing spectacular, but there it was... until 2 weeks ago.
